FAQs

Have any questions which aren’t covered in the FAQs? Send an email and we’ll be happy to help!

  • As of January 2024 the hourly rate is £80 per hour and day sessions are £400.

    The minimum charge is £50

  • Yes, I cannot accept bookings without a deposit. Deposits are generally 50% of the total session, for example a two hour session will require an £80 deposit, a full day will require a £200 deposit etc. Deposits are preferred in cash to make it easier to keep them separate, however if you’re not local then bank transfer is accepted.

  • Payment can be made with cash or bank transfer. Deposits are preferred in cash so they can be kept separate and only used at the time of your appointment.

  • A day session is anything from 5 hours upwards, day sessions tend to start at 10am and you can take as many breaks as you need. Remember to bring lunch and snacks with you!

  • Generally I am booked up around 3-4 months in advance for Thursday/Friday appointments, weekends are around 5-6 months. I do get cancellations occasionally and for smaller tattoos I will always try to squeeze you in somewhere!

  • Sometimes life happens and you need to rearrange your appointment! I require 48 hours notice to rearrange an appointment and retain your deposit, any less will unfortunately result in you losing your deposit.

In the months of December and January the cancellation time frame temporarily extends to 72 hours.

  • Please be aware that the studio is a private studio located within a residential property, so please do not turn up outside of working hours. If you do, I will not be able to attend to you. However as long as it’s between 10am-5pm Thursday-saturday you can turn up whenever you like! Access to the studio is not via the residential front door, so please contact me for entry instructions and so I know to expect you.

  • You absolutely can bring a guest with you to your appointment! However please don’t bring an entourage, the studio isn’t big enough for a crowd.

Young children are prohibited from attending the appointment with you. Older children who can sit quietly and entertain themselves may attend, but please remember tattoos require concentration and tattoo studios are boring places for children to sit for hours. In all cases it is preferable to arrange childcare.

  • I will always endeavour to do my best to accommodate and be understanding of any disabilities or anxieties you may have, so please add any details you would like me to be aware of or any questions you may have in your email so I can be prepared for you! Always consult with your doctor if you’re concerned getting a tattoo could impact your health.

  • Before you leave the studio, your artist will clean your tattoo thoroughly and wrap you up as securely as possible with either cling film or a second skin type barrier film (if requested). Each method will require slightly different aftercare steps.

Second Skin: Second Skin is a barrier film which can be left on for around three days (time varies depending on brand and how active you are). Whilst the film is on you don’t need to do anything with the tattoo. After the recommended time, remove the film by pulling the opposing corners taught (not upwards!) to release the adhesive. Repeat this with the other two corners until the film is removed. Thoroughly wash the area with warm soapy water to remove any adhesive residue and body fluids. It is normal for fluids such as blood, plasma and residual ink to build up under the film. However, if you feel the amount is excessive you can remove the film at any point before the recommended time period.

Cling film: after around 1-2 hours take the cling film off and wash the tattoo with warm soapy water. Try to use a gentle non scented soap. Pat it dry with a clean towel or kitchen roll. Then use a thin layer of moisturiser.

There are many creams on the market but we usually recommend creams such as cocoa butter, Dream Cream or Hustle Butter. Please discuss any allergies with us beforehand so we can help to advise you.

Over the following two weeks you will need to keep the tattoo clean and moisturised. We recommend giving the tattoo a gentle wash with warm soapy water and moisturise three times a day (morning, afternoon and evening).

Do not soak the tattoo in the bath, swimming pool or sea water whilst in the healing period.

Do not expose to direct sunlight whilst healing.

Do not get the tattoo dirty. If you work a job where you are likely to come into contact with excessive dirt/dust etc please discuss with your artist for further steps you can take to protect your tattoo in this environment.

It is normal for the tattoo to be swollen and sore at first. However, if you notice the pain, swelling or discomfort to increase after a few days, a rash occurs or the tattoo starts to weep pus please let us know and consult with your doctor.

(Certain parts of the body may require variations to the usual aftercare routine, your artist will discuss this with you if this is the case.)

You should find the tattoo will heal within around 1-2 weeks depending on how much work was done on the skin. Some people may find the healing period exceeds two weeks. This is pretty normal but if you are concerned, please contact us.

Once your tattoo is healed it is incredibly important to use appropriate sun protection. Sun damage is the enemy of tattoos and will cause your tattoo to blur, spread, discolour and fade. We always recommend using factor 50 sun cream with a high UVA rating (the star rating on the back of the bottle) during the warmer months. Supermarket own brands are usually reliable for this. Remember cool days and cloudy days can be deceptive, make sure you’re using sun protection!

  • Use of numbing cream is your decision but it is also at your own risk. Numbing cream can cause adverse reactions to the skin and affect the tattooing and healing process. it’s advisable to carry out a patch test first. Ideally you wouldn’t use it, there aren’t many parts of the body that are so painful it warrants its use so if you don’t really need it, don’t use it!

  • Due to being consistently booked up I am unable to take walk ins.

  • Wear clothing that allow easy access to the area which is being tattooed and please don’t wear expensive or precious clothing or footwear! ink can splatter and ruin clothing, so it is your responsibility to dress accordingly.

  • Yes! You can buy gift vouchers in the studio or you can email me to arrange payment and delivery. Gift vouchers are valid for one year and booking must be made within that time (the appointment doesn’t necessarily need to be within that time).

We also sell t-shirts and hoodies which also make great gifts!

  • I do not tattoo sexual or intimate areas or do tattoos for sexual gratification. Please respect that whilst the studio is a private studio it is primarily meant to be a safe space for myself and my clients.
